CLASSIC CHARLESTON CONDOS

Neil Stevenson Architects, Inc., a young and creative local architecture firm, redesigned the reconstruction of this historic  property  into condominiums. Davidson Lofts is an urban, above-street transformation of one of the city's most notable antebellum buildings in downtown Charleston, South Carolina. Renowned as the graceful American Hotel in the late 1800's, and owned by the Davidson brothers of London for most of the 20th Century, the corner building is known for its well-preserved Tuscan facade details. The Davidson Lofts  include quality contemporary fixtures, materials and appliances yet still retain the classic exposed brick walls, 9 foot ceilings, and operable windows. The large gourmet kitchens feature custom cabinetry, French limestone countertops, Thermador gas range with stainless steel hoods, Monogram built-in refrigerators, and Bosch dishwashers. The fixtures: Waterworks and Restoration Hardware. Neighborhood shops: Caviar & Bananas, Bob Ellis Shoes, Pottery Barn,  & Williams-Sonoma.
